He was first born child of Ruben Clemente and Delia Chavez born on October 13, 1959, in Van Nuys, CA.
He was a great carpenter and helped so many with his carpentry skills building things across the community and helping friends and family. His hard-working hands and fingerprints are forever imprinted in those who surrounded him.
Everyone around him knew he loved the family dog Bootsie and trained her how to walk on the treadmill. As many might remember he also loved walking all around Home Depot for what seemed hours looking for what he wanted, but never asked for help because he could do it on his own. One of his favorite things to do was going to the horse races and especially he loved watching his favorite football team the Steelers.
He joins his father, Ruben Clemente, his beloved mother, Delia Chavez, and Grandmother, Magdalena Josephina Herrera. Ruben is survived by his son, Ruben Chavez; his two daughters, Yvonne Tyus, her husband James Tyus, and Monica Soto; his grandchildren, Naomi and Cesar Tyus; his companion, Margie Zepeda; her children and grandchildren, his brother Edward Arthur Chavez and his wife Lorena Chavez, sisters Diana Herrera and her companion Teodoro Corral and Gloria Murillo and her husband Victor Murillo, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins..
We will miss his infectious laugh and his good and caring heart. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved mother.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gateskingsleygates.com for the Chavez family.
