Alfred Jacob Ostrow

Alfred was born in Boston to the late Florence (Sandler) and Nathan Ostrow. He is also predeceased by his adored sister Ethel Rutman and her husband William and his niece Nadine Jaspon and her husband Harold, with whom Alfred lived for over 20 years. Alfred is survived by his great-nephew Brian Jaspon and great-niece Erica Caliri.

He was an avid runner and enjoyed physical fitness, including lifting weights, yoga, and Tai chi. While in his 60’s, Alfred moved from Boston to Bridgewater to live with his niece, Nadine, and her husband Harold. Six out of seven days a week, he would walk miles to the train, go into Boston, exercise, and walk around the City, before returning home each evening. Alfred was a big Boston sports fan and always watched or listened to the games. Although Alfred wasn’t one to strike up a conversation, once you started talking to him you could immediately tell that he had a wealth of knowledge regarding a plethora of topics.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Funeral Service at 11 AM on October 31, 2024 at Lord Rothschild Cemetery, located at 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.

Shiva will be held at the home of Erica and Anthony Caliri immediately following the service.
