The youngest of six children born to the late Leah (Engler) and Abraham Leon, she was predeceased by her sisters Sylvia Close and Hilda Stone as well as her brothers Herbert Leon, Melvin Leon and Irwin Leon. She was the adored wife of the late Samuel Burman for nearly 70 years. Like many of their generation, they lived through the crushing poverty of the Great Depression and the existential challenges of World War II and went on to create a warm life filled with friends, family and many good times.
Throughout her life she enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play cards, mahjong and – in the last year – RummiKub. If there were such a title, she would have been crowned “Queen of RummiKub” at the Newbridge on the Charles long term care facility where she lived for the last year and a half.
Our Mother, Nana, Nana B, Nana Nita, leaves behind so many who loved her: daughter Susan Coppelman and husband Ross of Yarmouth Port, son Michael Burman and wife Nanci (Elman) of Sharon; grandchildren Adam Coppelman and wife Alison (Reb), Shelly (Burman) Pearlstein and husband Brett, Benjamin Coppelman and wife Laura (Wills), Evan Burman, and Jessica (Burman) Dlugasch and husband Brian. She lived long enough for most of her eight great-grandchildren to have known and loved her: Charles Coppelman, Marin Pearlstein, Adyn Pearlstein, Kai Coppelman, Alexander Coppelman, Blake Dlugasch, Brody Dlugasch, and Mae Coppelman. She was also deeply loved by her nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Newbridge on the Charles for the care and love she received while living there.
Funeral Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:00am, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
