
She is survived by her adored and devoted husband of 70 years, Max Nelson, her loving daughters Laura Tamber, Jeanne Nelson, Barbara Morgenlender and Elinor Nelson, her four sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many caring friends and relatives.
Charlotte was raised in Port Chester, NY and attended City College of New York City, where she met the love of her life, Max Nelson. She graduated with a teacher’s degree and taught business and English classes for several years before devoting herself to raising her family. She was an active volunteer and worked for many organizations including the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, B’nai Brith and Brandeis Women. She mentored and tutored needy schoolchildren in Fort Lauderdale, where she and her husband enjoyed many retirement years.
Charlotte loved traveling with her husband and friends, planning family activities and reunions and entertaining her many friends. Her strong, optimistic and bright spirit will be dearly missed.
Charlotte’s service will be at 9:30 AM on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA followed by interment at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will be receiving visitors on Friday from 1 to 4:30 PM and Saturday from 5:30 to 8 PM at Norumbega Point, Weston, MA.
