Beloved father of Brooke Snyder, Erika Snyder and her husband Sam Horenstein, and Michael Snyder. Dear husband of many years of Cheryl (Green) Snyder. Loving brother of Richard Snyder and his wife Patti and the late Marla Snyder. Son of the late Harold and Bertha Snyder.
His earliest hobbies include sports, trains, and karate. He loved playing baseball in his early years as a high school pitcher to his later years as a softball catcher. He was given the nickname hammer because of how hard he hit the ball over the outfielder’s heads. He became a black belt in karate as well.
One of this proudest achievements was serving in the Army and proudly earning the title of Veteran. He had an expert badge for M16, M14 Grenade Launcher, was an honor graduate for CARN Warfare Course, and an NCOIC Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. He was a parachute jumper that made a total of 52 jumps while overseas in Germany.
His proudest accomplishment was raising a family with his forever best friend, Cheryl Snyder, and 3 kids who he never failed to let know how much he loved them. He was admired within his family as a coach, car lover, handyman, die-hard Red Sox fan, and gym rat. The endless support and belief he had in his kids while bringing humor and lightness to their days will always be remembered.
His family of origin meant everything to him. He loved them in the best way he knew how. He knew he would be reunited with them when he passed.
He made friends wherever he went was never afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger. He loved creating little moments of joy like that often. His genuineness, sense of humor, and strength will live on through the memories he made with those he loved. HIs spirit will live on through his kids and they will never go a day in their life without knowing that.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 26th at 10:45 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
