Deborah Lee Levitz passed away on the morning of October 25, 2024. Born in Lynn, MA to Rhoda (Polansky) and George Holop on December 2, 1946, she grew up in Natick and West Hartford, Connecticut. Debbie met her husband Bob (Robert) Levitz when she was in high school and they had been together ever since. After graduating from Simmons College she began her 38-year career with Stoughton Public Schools, where she taught English and was a school principal. Debbie was a devoted mother to her sons and was blessed with a granddaughter who brought her so much joy these last five years. Debbie was devoted to excellence in education and took great joy in working with children. When she retired in 2008 she was Stoughton’s longest serving educator and West Elementary School surprised her by dedicating the school playground, the Deborah L. Levitz Playground. In addition to her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Levitz. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Bob (Robert) Levitz of Stoughton, her son Michael (Bree) and beloved granddaughter Kelsey of Stoughton; her sisters Carolyn (Curt) Coleman of Santa Cruz, CA, Janet Holop Kaufman (Dr. Ronald Kaufman) of Slingerslands, NY, and her brother Joseph Holop (Maria Pechs) of Pasadena, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
