Doris Barbara Palmer Robbins

May 23, 1927 – July 13, 2015

Doris Barbara Robbins, 88, died unexpectedly Monday, July 13th at The Arbors of Taunton, Taunton, MA.

She was the loving mother to Nancy Robbins Federici and her husband, David, of Norton, MA and Gail (Robbins) Javins and husband William, of Knoxville, TN and the loving sister to Harold Palmer of Jacksonville, FL and aunt to several nieces. She is the former spouse of Trueman L. Robbins Jr. of Leyden, MA.

Born and raised in Somerville, MA, Doris lived in the Boston area until her move to Northampton, MA in 1963. She spent much of her life in Northampton until her move to Barefoot Bay, FL in 1986. While living in Northampton she held the position as the Director of Sales for the Northampton Hilton Inn for many years. In Barefoot Bay, she worked for Weight Watchers for over 20 years as a receptionist and worked into her eighties before retiring. After several years of retirement she moved back to New England in April, 2015, to be closer to family and friends and to enjoy her remaining years at the Arbors of Taunton, an Assisted Living Residence Facility which was located close to her daughter, Nancy’s, home.

Doris loved to travel and had visited Hawaii, England, France, Bermuda, Italy, Austria and the Caribbean as well as many of the US states. She had an independent spirit and great love for her daughters.

At her request, she is to be cremated and there are no calling hours or burial.
