

Dorothea R. (Frankel) Aronson, formerly of Holbrook and Florida, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into rest on January 30, 2026, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Philip H. Aronson. Devoted mother of Janine Aronson and her husband Bobby Butler of Colorado, Bruce Aronson and his wife Ellen and Paul Aronson and his wife Hara all of Sharon. Cherished grandmother of Marla, Michael, Stephanie, Adam, Jordan, Morgan, Gillian and the late Jenna; and cherished great-grandmother to Matthew, Vivian and Sophia. Loving sister of the late Harold Belt of Newton and late Adele Reeder of Phoenix.
Dottie was an active member of her family’s club, The Fisher Family Group, for over fifty years. She was an active member of B’nai Brith receiving many awards. She raised funds to have the “Welcome To” signs for Holbrook and Randolph. She was active in holding blood and food drives in Holbrook. Dorothea was a very active Charter and Board Member at Temple Beth Shalom. She was very proud to be the first female on the South Shore to be called up to the Bimah for the honor of saying the Borach Hu prayer.
Dottie and Phil loved to dance, travel, and bird watch. She also loved the theatre; often ushering; and knitting for others. She gave of herself, helping family and friends and those less fortunate. In 2019, at age 88, she was recognized by Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital for knitting hats for newborns.
Her funeral service will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM; burial to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Memorial observances will be held at the home of Bruce and Ellen Aronson.
