

A graduate of Dorchester High School, class of 1938, he joined the US Army in 1942 and was in a unit that fought at the Battle of Bastogne and was among the liberators of the concentration camps. After he was discharged from the Army, he attended Boston University.
For over 40 years, Mr. Lastoff was the owner and proprietor of the James T. Towhill Company of Boston, MA, a purveyor of wholesale stationery and office supplies. He was a member of the Natural Office Products Dealers Association and the Boston Stationers Association. He was a 32nd degree Shriner of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction for the USA for over 50 years. Mr. Lastoff was a founding member of the Sharon Mens Club as well as a member for over 50 years. He was a member of Temple Israel of Sharon for over 40 years and more recently was a member of the Hampden Cribbage Club as well as being an ardent admirer of classical music.
Mr. Lastoff was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley (Kates), his devoted children Debra Lastoff and her husband Barry Linder of Eliot, ME, Linda Lastoff (and the late Gregg Sapere) of Wilbraham, MA and Paul Lastoff and his wife Katherine of Pelham, NH and his cherished grandchildren Rachael, Matthew and Aaron. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Tuesday, August 7th beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, www.diabetes.org, would be appreciated.
