Elenore Phyllis (Kaplan) Steinberg

Loving wife of the late Robert William Steinberg. Beloved mother of Frank J. Steinberg and his wife Caren of Randolph and Cynthia Carlin and her husband Donald of New Jersey. Cherished grandmother of Benjamin Carlin, Lindsey Hoffman and her husband David, Jamie Steinberg and her fiancé Christopher McGee, and the late Daniel Steinberg. Great-grandmother of Evy and Evan Hoffman. Sister of the late Alvan Kaplan and his late wife Lorraine. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was a friend to everyone.

Elenore was born in Cambridge on March 15, 1920 to Leah (Pearlman) and Samuel Kaplan. She grew up in Somerville and Brookline. Together with Robert, she raised her own family in Newton, staying for 65 years. Elenore has resided at Cornerstone at Canton since turning 100 years old.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, October 11 at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Attendees will gather at the cemetery chapel building between 10:00 – 10:30 AM; we will drive to the grave area together for the service.

Shiva will be held at the home of Frank and Caren Steinberg on Wednesday from 1:30 - 4:30 and 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elenore’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
