Helen (Izbicki) Abrams of Stoughton, previously of Sharon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 72 years of age. Daughter of the late Rachel and Lester Izbicki. Cherished mother of Alison Abrams of Bridgewater, MA; Michael Abrams and Stacy (Cantor) Abrams of Glenview, IL; and treasured grandmother of Owen, Isaac, and Addison Abrams. Beloved sister of Howard Izbicki and Karen Evans and aunt of David Izbicki and Elizabeth (Bakhash) Izbicki of New York, NY.
Helen was born in Boston on January 3, 1954, to Holocaust survivor parents who always focused on the importance of family and faith. From early on, Helen knew she wanted to work with young children; she earned her MA in Childhood Education from Lesley College and welcomed her own children in 1979 and 1982. From then on, Helen’s world revolved around her kids, and she loved them fiercely and unconditionally until the day she died. Their triumphs were her triumphs; their sorrows were her sorrows, and she loved nothing more than traveling with them, welcoming them into her home, or celebrating their life’s milestones alongside them. Starting in 2015, Helen graduated to “Gramma,” and her great joy became FaceTiming with her grandchildren, visiting them in Glenview, or enjoying photos of them being wild and crazy on the family shared photo app. Her passing leaves an enormous hole of love and support in all her family’s lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, January 30, 2026, starting at 1:30 p.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to furthering cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at www.dana-farber.org
