Marion Bella Buyer

Marion Bella Buyer of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 74 years of age. Daughter of the late Betty (Lewin) Buyer and Alfred Baier. Loving wife of Michael Kevin Smith who passed in 2018. Beloved mother of Marc D. Smith, Eric R. Smith and the late Max Smith. Cherished sister of Ann Toll (Robert) and Charles Buyer (Linda). Loving aunt to Amy Bono (George) and Meredith Toll-Abramowitz (Stephen); Michelle Buyer and Julie Buyer; great-aunt to Samuel Bono, Ella and Gabriel Abramowitz.

Marion was born in Malden, MA on August 25, 1950 and grew up in Needham, attending Needham schools. A talented artist, she graduated from Vesper George School of Art in Boston and then from Boston University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. During her college years Marion enjoyed a robust social life, making many life-long friends who valued her kindness, generosity, sharp sense of humor, and charismatic personality. She met and married Michael Smith, the love of her life, and soon they welcomed twin boys who completed their family. She joined the family business, Buyer Advertising, in 1980 and remained there until recently when she became ill. Marion loved: coffee ice cream, York Beach any time of year, sitting on her deck in the sun enjoying her beautiful plants, a good British mystery series, cooking (not baking), reading, her cat Ashley, and spending time with her friends and family, whom she loved and valued above all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10 AM with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, 319 Highland Street, Canton. Shiva will be held at the home of Chuck and Linda Buyer on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
