Born in Brooklyn, NY, on June 13, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Isadore and Ethel Green. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Wasserman, George Gerard, and Melvin Castleman.
Ruth Castleman personified radiance. She outwardly showered love and affection on whomever she came into contact with. With dignity, an extraordinary intelligence, natural beauty, and always with a sense of humor, she embraced the world and all those she met and loved along the way.
Those left to treasure Ruth’s memory include her loving son, Russ Gerard and his partner Nouchine Hadjikhani, her cherished grandchildren, Nayla Ruth and George Suhail Gerard, and her devoted son-in-law, Glen S. Hoffman. She leaves behind her loving three great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Xavier and Ronan. She will be missed by all her cherished extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Wasserman, George Gerard, and Melvin Castleman, and very recently by her dear daughter and close confidant, Devora Claire (Gerard) Hoffman.
