

Born February 12, 1933, Stan grew up in Dorchester, where he developed a community of dear friends he maintained throughout his life. After graduation from English High in Boston, he volunteered for military service. A proud veteran of the Korean war, serving in the army from 1953-1955. Stan recently honored in a ceremony at which The Consul General of the Republic of South Korea presented him with the prestigious Ambassador of Peace Medal.
Upon return to the states, Stan attended The Wentworth Institute and Northeastern University, from where he received a degree in Industrial engineering. He was employed by Sylvania Corp. before starting his own business, Lomed Systems, providing educational and vocational equipment to colleges throughout New England.
Stan is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine (Godoff), brother, Alan Bower (Aronna), brother-in-law, Stan Godoff (Leslie), daughters, Kari (Andrew Lichtstein) and Lisa (Alan Abraham), four adoring grandchildren, Brant, Trevor and Madison Abraham and Talia Lichtstein.
Stan most enjoyed fishing, building model ships, studying political and military history, and being a partner to his cherished wife Elaine, who kept him busy and happy with a calendar filled with both hosted and attended social events for their numerous friends and family. During quieter days, he loved nothing more than being a “PA” and telling stories to his four grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Stan Bower will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
