She was born July 30, 1934 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Francis and Pearl (Bartley) Flood. Bernice was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She worked in lady's apparel at Stern & Manns and at George-Ann's. Bernice was in business with her husband, David R. Ritchie, and later she performed as a professional clown known as "Anty Boom Boom". She was a crossing guard at North Canton Schools at Orchard Hill School. She enjoyed going to lunch, and loved Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Green, and Frances Turner; children, Teri Chandler, and David Ritchie. She is survived by her sons, William R. (Natalie) Wright II, Andrew J. (Michelle) Ritchie, and Steven P. (Kris) Ritchie; daughters, Randy L. Ritchie, and Tracey D. (John) Crawley; brother, Frank Flood, Jr.; sister, Shirley Chipps; and numerous grandchildren.
A visitation for Bernice will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7707 Market Avenue North, North Canton, Ohio 44721, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Bernice will be laid to rest in North Lawn Cemetery, Canton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
