

He was born January 12, 1936 in Canton, Ohio to the late Theodor and Mildred (Berger) Dunlap. Bruce was a graduate of Lehman High School and attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Ashland College. He worked for the State of Ohio and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), retiring in 1986. Bruce served as president of the Lake Cable Recreation Association for 31 years from 1984-2015, and was a member of their Sportsman, Fish, and Retirees Club, including the Float Boat Committee. Bruce also held membership in the Jackson Lions Club, American Legion, and Church of the Lakes United Methodist. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He enjoyed attending events like the Hartville Flea Market every Monday. He was a friend to everyone he met.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Lamb. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elisabeth “Liz” (Stein) Dunlap; sons, Dr. Duane D. Dunlap of West Lafayette, IN, and Robert Louis (Vickie) Dunlap of Crestline, OH; daughter, Monica Dentler of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Donald (Pam), Jamey, and Corey Dentler, Robert Lamb, Charlotte and Olivia Dunlap, and Matthew Dunlap; great grandchildren, Madison and Katelyn Dentler; and brother, Ted Dunlap.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday in the Church of the Lakes United Methodist, 5944 Fulton Drive NW, Canton, OH 44718, with Dr. Bryan George officiating. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, where a Lions Club Service will be held at 4:45pm, or from 10-11am at the church. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or the Church of the Lakes Charity Fund.
