

David was born September 19, 1937, in North Canton to the late Homer and Leora (Cline) Young. He was a long-standing member of Zion United Church of Christ, and retired Fire Inspector and former volunteer firefighter for the Jackson Township Fire Department. David was also a former Boy Scout Troop Leader, and very involved in his church. He enjoyed camping, collecting firefighter memorabilia, working on his antique firetruck, woodworking projects, working on cars, and numerous other hobbies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Carol; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha and Ronald Fisher, and brothers-in-law James Phillis, Harry Benton, and Ronnie Fisher. He is survived by his children, Laurie (Lee) Antonacci, Scott (Heidi) Young, and Sharon King (Mark); grandchildren, Tyler (Amanda) Antonacci, Ross Antonacci, Jon (Margi) Young, A.J. (Brittany) Young, Justin (Lilia) King, Stephanie Morgenroth, and Lindsay King; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Carter, Wyatt, Taylor, Jemma, and Averie; sisters, Norma Phillis and Dorothy Benton; brothers-in-law, Les (Jane) Fisher, Garry (Fran) Fisher, and Rick (Mary Ann) Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Zion United Church of Christ, 415 South Main St., North Canton. Family and friends may call from 10:00-11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Zion United Church of Christ.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Altercare of Nobles Pond for their excellent care. Their compassionate and loving staff made the last months easier for David and his family.
