NORMA JEAN YOUNG, 84, passed away early Friday morning, January 30, 2014. Norma was born on August 19, 1929 to the late Frank and Opal Spaulding. She was married in 1951 to the late WPaul Young. Norma is survived by her son Wayne Scott Young and wife Linda; her daughter Susan Young and husband William Roper and three grandchildren – Karen, Eric and Jessica.
One of Norma’s passions was music. Norma played clarinet in the Massillon Tiger Swing band, Green Community Band and Lehigh Concert Band. She also played keyboard for years at First Christian Church and most recently handbells at Faith Lutheran Church of Lehigh Acres, Florida. Norma was choir director for 8 years for Job Daughters, Bethel 72 in Massillon.
Friends and family may call on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home between 4 and 6 pm. Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Perry Christian Church (139 Perry Dr. NW; Massillon) In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to one of Norma’s love, the Lehigh Concert Band (c/o George Unverzagt, 2208 Croton Ct.; Lehigh Acres, FL 33936).
