Richard Lee Klotz

Richard was born March 5, 1930 in Malvern, Ohio to the late George and Hilda (Hewitt) Klotz. He was a graduate of Malvern High School; worked for the Timken Company for 37 years, and later worked for Avis Rent-A-Car for more than 30 years. Richard was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, and was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. In his younger days he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and boating. In later years his interests included gardening, travel, and driving. He especially enjoyed sharing vegetables from his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Daniel Klotz; and sisters, Jane Kuntzmann, and Vivian Maury. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Leona Kathleen Klotz (nee Russell) whom he married October 1, 1949; daughter, Myrna (David) Vasil; son, Darrell (Linda) Klotz; grandchildren, Christine (Jesse) Dolan, Craig (Katie) Vasil, and Katelyn Klotz; great-grandchildren, Julia, Joshua, Leah, and Elizabeth Dolan, and Rowan, Harper, and Fallon Vasil; and sister, Martha (Dale) Moyer.

A visitation for Richard will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Richard will be laid to rest in Malvern Bethlehem Cemetery, Malvern, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice. The family would like to thank the staff of Canton Regency Memory Care, and Jen and the staff of Aultman Hospice.
