Richard N Schaffner

He was born in Canton, Ohio on January 22, 1949 to Donald Schaffner and the late Ruth (Greenbank) Schaffner.

Richard was a retired Sheriff deputy, retired North Canton Special, and currently employed as a ranger for Stark County Parks and Walsh University Police Department, and as an associate at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. He was a graduate of Hoover High School; a veteran of the US Navy; a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton; the Knights of Columbus; F.O.P.; Blue Knights Motorcycle Club; and Canton Buick Club.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Roberta Schaffner; son Jason Schaffner of North Canton; daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Brader of Delaware, OH; father, Donald Schaffner of North Canton; and sister, Susan (Dave) Volzer of Paris, OH.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton with Rev. Fr. Stephen Zeigler officiating. The procession will form at the church. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday, 1-3pm and 6-8pm in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The F.O.P will conduct a service at 5:45pm on Sunday prior to the evening calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4682 Douglas Circle Northwest, Canton, OH 44718.
