He was born in Portage, PA. He was the son of the late John and Julia Andrews of Portage, PA. He graduated from Portage Borough High School. He served in World War II as an airplane mechanic at the rank of Corporal. He attended Otterbein College. He then relocated to the Columbus, Ohio area with his wife. Ted was a member of Canton Baptist Temple. He was as independent photographer and had the opportunity to take pictures of United States Presidents as well as other people of notoriety. He was an excellent photographer and created wedding photos that were unique using camera lens filters that he created. He took many pictures of weddings, dance studios, sport teams, and even beautiful pictures of flowers and nature. He “retired” around the age of 85 from photography. He enjoyed music and playing instruments such as the bass fiddle, accordion, and guitar. He also was an oil painting artist and learned to airbrush paintings. Above all this he loved God and stayed faithful in remembering that his faith and that of his family was extremely important to him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Donna and then by his second wife Beatrice, and daughter Peggy. He is survived by daughter Beth, son Terry and daughter-in-law Linda, son-in-law Mike, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Aultman CCU and Palliative Care for their genuine care and compassion during his illness.
He will be greatly missed by family but he will remain alive in our hearts and our memories until we are reunited together again in Heaven. A Bible verse that Ted would want those to know is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
A family service is being planned with Rev. Delaney Young of Canton Baptist Temple officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, Canton, OH, with entombment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
