
Arthur Clinton Werden III, 93, of Canton, Texas passed peacefully away at home on August 5, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1932, in Visalia, California to Arthur Clinton Werden Jr. and Barbara Frye Werden.
Arthur grew up in the Carson City, Nevada area. After high school he attended UCLA and graduated with a bachelor's degree. Arthur was outgoing and funny. He was always playing playful pranks on his children to their delight. He was very smart and had a great memory. Arthur enjoyed good quotes and expanding his vocabulary. Arthur was proud of his children and took pride in that he helped raise and inspire one of his daughters to become an Olympic Soccer Gold medal winner with the US women’s team. He enjoyed his time coaching soccer and skiing with all his children through the years. Arthur loved his family and leaves them with wonderful memories of a life well lived.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Barbara Werden; sisters: Isabel Larey and Ruth Werden.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Werden; children: Clint and Michelle Werden, Jonna and David Slagel, Bart and Kim Werden, Carla and Greg Overbeck; step children, Pam and Kit Liebrum, Renee Sanders; grandchildren: Andrea, Aaron, Jamie, Mitchell, Reese, Senti, Jordan, Jimmy, Meredith, Caroline, Jackson, Carson, LuAnne; great grandchildren: Jesse, Kennedy, Slade, Shelby, Sonny, Daley, Brody; a multitude of other family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at a later date.
