Barbara Jean was united with her Lord on September 16, 2018 surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on June 17, 1940 to Chester Lavern Flatt and Dorothy Shaw Flatt. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joe Pat Luckett.
Barbara is survived in death by her daughter, Patti Roland and husband, Kevin; granddaughter, Shanda Moorman and husband, Matt; granddaughter, Carie Stanfill and husband,Owen; granddaughter, Joni Utz and husband, Andrew; great grandchildren, Jase Moorman, Kaden Moorman, Jaxon Moorman, Hattie Stanfill, and Nora Stanfill. She is also survived by her loving sister- in- law, Mary Helen Luckett-Keath.
Barbara had a variety of hobbies but gardening, sewing, cooking and baking were the ones she most enjoyed. Barbara’s love for gardening and cooking was most evident in family gatherings. She loved planting tomatoes and peppers that were shared with neighbors and friends. She also spent her time baking cakes and breads, and was famous for her banana pudding amongst her friends and family. Barbara adored her little dog, Jake and spoiled him daily. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud to be their “Nanny.”
Barbara loved her Lord and accepted Him as her Savior, and was baptized. She had recently moved her church membership from Old Seagoville Road Baptist in Dallas to Pathway’s Fellowship in Mesquite. Barbara’s family rejoices that she has eternal peace in being united with her Lord, as well as loved ones who have preceded her in death.
