Celia was born on January 30, 1937, to parents Lester Hammel and Willie Mae Shinn. She grew up with three brothers and two sisters.
Celia was known for her kindness, humor, love for others, and devotion to Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, attending church and Bible study, playing bridge, cooking delicious meals, and singing classic hymns. Celia brought joy everywhere she went and made everyone who knew her feel loved. She had many close and beautiful friendships and she was lovingly known as Mamaw, Mimi, and Aunt by the many people who cherished her.
She is survived by her son, Eric Sides; her daughter, Christina Jontra; and her grandchildren, Annie, Michelle, Jackson, Eli, Gracen, and Gregory.
A funeral will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m. at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
She was adored by many and will be deeply missed.
