Don Wayne Hill

On Wednesday, June 30th at 1:00 PM, we will be honoring Don Wayne Hill and celebrating his life of honesty, integrity, hard work, and kindness. Pastor Mike Roberson will be officiating under the direction of Eubanks Funeral Home.

Don went home to be with his Lord on June 26, 2021. He was born July 14, 1939 in Banquete, Texas to Hubert R. Hill and Hazel Trainor Hill.

Don grew up in Carthage, Texas and graduated from Carthage High School. Don attended Panola College, graduated from Jacksonville Baptist College, and attended Texas Tech University.

After meeting Lynda Ruth Gorman while sharing their musical gifts together in a revival, they married in 1960. Together they have three children, Kevin, Donna, and T’Shana.

Don served in the army from 1961 to 1967. Don was a long-haul driver for Sears from 1966 to 1991, when he founded Hill Insurance Agency, which he and his wife Lynda ran together. The agency is still owned and operated by their children and grandchildren currently. Over the years, Don has had many interests and ways that he has served his Lord and his community. He was a deacon, who served in all the churches he has been in since 1965, in Bryan Street Baptist Church in Lamesa, Tx, Highland Baptist Church in Roswell, NM, and at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Canton, Tx. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Wills Point and loved golfing and fishing. He was the president of the Resurrection Riders of Wills Point, who serve under the Christian Motorcycle Association. He loved music and enjoyed singing in various gospel quartets over the years. Don loved to travel with his wife and family all over the United States and around the world.

Don’s love for his family was evident and reciprocated by his beloved wife, Lynda Hill; daughters and sons- in-law, Donna Lynn and Scott McGriff, T’Shana Ruth and Clinton Everitt; grandchildren, Steven and Stephanie Hill, Joshua and Olivia Everitt, Natasha Hill, Victoria and Sky Bennett, Dylan McGriff, Elizabeth and Adam West, Matt McGriff and great grandchildren, Avery, Hadlie, Addilynn, Elizabeth and Elliana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Hazel Hill; son, Kevin Wayne Hill; granddaughter, Cassie McGriff and two infant great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Eubank Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
