Don Morris Walden

Services for Don Morris Walden, 83, of Canton, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday September 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Canton with Pastor Mike Roberson and Pastor Jon Thornsbury officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton, Texas.

He passed away August 28, 2014 in Canton, TX.

Mr. Walden was born October 26, 1930 in Albuquerque, NM, to Jack Samuel and Myrtle Morris Walden.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. He was married to two special ladies, his first wife, Betsy Ruth, for 25 years before her passing and then to his present wife, Peggy, for 29 years. Mr. Walden was owner and operator of Walden Debits and Credits Company and retired from two companies as an accountant, Sherwin Williams and Argon which was owned by Bristol Myers Squibb. He enjoyed baseball, driving, traveling and volunteering at his church and in the community. He was the election judge for the Democratic Party for Van Zandt County. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.

Surviving are Wife, Peggy Walden of Canton, Daughter, Susie & John Bailey of Ben Wheeler, TX., Daughter-in-law, Gina Walden of Overton, TX., Daughter, Shannon William & Lynn McCreary of Denton,TX., Son, Clay & Mary Grace McNear of Scottsdale, AZ, Sister, Patsy Johnson, 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his First Wife, Betsy Ruth Walden, Son, Gary Walden, Grandson, Micah Walden, Brothers, Wesley & Tommy Walden, Sisters, Anne Starkey and Cora Launders, Father, Jack Samuel Walden, Mother, Myrtle Morris Walden.

Pallbearers are Nathan Bailey, Chance Kinlaw, Robert BeCraft, Alex BeCraft, Joel Walden, Joshua Walden, Allen Ward, Clay McNear and Honorary Pallbearers are Jonce McNear and Conrad Bailey.
