Eulah Margaret White

Eulah Margaret White went home to be with Jesus on May 15, 2023. She was born on February 9, 1926 in Beloit, Wisconsin. She married Andrew Nuel White on April 30, 1948, and together they built a beautiful life honoring their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They were reunited in Heaven on Andy’s birthday.

Margaret was a proud educator, an avid reader, and an antique dealer but she was most proud to be the mother of beloved identical twin daughters Nancy Jane and Peggy Jean, the grandmother to Cap, Elizabeth, Will and Laura and a sweet Nana to the seven most wonderful great grandchildren: Caroline, Andrew, Anna, Nell, Liam and Ransom. After spending many years in Mission, Texas and Mineola, Missouri, Margaret and Andy retired to the East Texas countryside near Colfax, Texas where they lived and farmed for nearly 30 years, hosting regular family reunions, complete with horseback riding, hay rides, games and music. They were active members of First Baptist Church Canton. In 2004, they moved closer to family and became active members of First Baptist Church Grapevine. Margaret served as a member and director of the WMU, Gideons Auxiliary, Delta Kappa Gamma,and the Retired Teachers Association. She was also active in the jail ministry, ESL classes and taught several Sunday school classes. Margaret valued education deeply. She took classes at Pan American University in the Rio Grande Valley while her twin daughters were young and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught Junior High and High School in both Mission and Van, Texas. She also loved traveling, visiting the Holy Land, Egypt, Rome, Greece, Russia, Brazil, Peru, Nova Scotia, the Yucatan and London. On Sunday evenings for many years, she would eat popcorn and watch Murder, She Wrote while completing crossword puzzles and writing in her diary.

Margaret is preceded in death by Andrew White, her loving husband of 58 years, her dear daughter Peggy Jean, her parents Ora and James Earl White, brothers Warren, Harold, Boyd and Jim and sister Lucille. She is survived by daughter Nancy (Sam, Ph.D) Carmack; grandchildren Cap (Elizabeth) Jones, Elizabeth (John) Huffman, Will (Bailey) Carmack, Laura (Ryan) Maxwell; great grandchildren Caroline, Andrew, and Anna Huffman, Nell and Liam Carmack and Ransom Maxwell; sisters in law Helen Ruth Highsmith Helen White, Ph.D; and Pat White, as well as dear nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at Parkwood Retirement Community for their loving and extended care of Margaret, especially over the last several years.

Funeral services will be at 2pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Eubanks Funeral Home in Canton, Texas. Visitation will begin an hour before the service.
