Mrs. Shaw was born November 25, 1932 in Hawkins, Texas to the late Henry Battee and Evelyn Greer Battee-Shamlin. She attended nursing school in Chicago, Illinois and Floral School at Tyler Junior College. Ivy was a member of New Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.
Ivy was a beautiful lady and full of life. She was an avid poetry writer. Ivy wrote many wonderful poems. She enjoyed talking and meeting people. Ivy never met a stranger. She loved the Lord and her family. Ivy leaves an empty place in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.
Those that she leaves to cherish her memory are son, Gregory Shaw (Lessie), daughters, Connie Shaw and Camille Shaw; 14 special grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and granddog "Buddy".
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnell Shaw; children, Gary Batiste, Troy Batiste and Donnell Shaw; sisters, Lurene Edwards, Ruby Shamlin and Judy Pruitt.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Eubank Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
