Izora Williams

Services for Izora Williams, 93, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating. Interment will be in Morris Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Canton. She was born March 4, 1925 in Martins Mill to Walter Eastland and Ora Belle Morris Ward.

Izora grew up in Martins Mill and was the Swimming Team Champion and the Valedictorian of her graduating class. She married John Carlton Williams on May 6, 1946. Izora was a homemaker, but was known for her career as a waitress in Canton. She was a fantastic cook also. Mrs. Williams loved to sing and was a member of a quartet, the China Grove Baptist Church Choir and also occasionally sang with the Morris Sisters. She also enjoyed quilting and making dolls. At the nursing home, Izora was known for her beautiful smile. The residents, staff and visitors enjoyed seeing her beautiful smile and often mentioned it to her family.

Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ora Belle Ward; husband, John Carlton Williams; daughter, Peggy Ann Williams; two grandsons: Colt and Cooper Clark; and two brothers: B.W. and Charles Ward.

Izora is survived by her six children and their spouses: Roxie and Lonny Cluck of Canton, Margaret and Johnny Frosch of Kaufman, Sharon and Tracy Clark of Gun Barrel City, Randy and Kay Williams of Fruitvale, Tim Williams and Oleta of Canton, and Doug and Trena Williams of Athens; fifteen grandchildren: Stephen Bennett, Jason Bennett, Loni Kinsey, Jodi Frosch, Brian Frosch, Billy Frosch, Amy Height, Beth Hanks, Samantha Parker, Chad Williams, Justin Williams, Jared Williams, Payton Williams, Cody Clark and Caysea Clark; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters: Lavona Hale of Athens, Shirley Ward of Athens, and Merle Dunn of Canton.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Bennett, Jason Bennett, Brian Frosch, Billy Frosch, Chad Williams, Justin Williams, Jared Williams, Payton Williams and Cody Clark.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
