He was born April 6, 1955 in Piedmont, South Carolina, to Harold Steele Garrett and Virginia Owens.
James joined the Army in 1972 and served his country for 7 years. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his Father, Harold Garrett, Mother, Virginia & Paul Pilsbury, Wife, Lauri Garrett, Daughter Sara Garrett, Son, Jeremiah, Granddaughter, Allysin Garrett, and 4 Sisters.
James was preceded in death by his Son, Donald Steele Garrett.
