Services for Joe Richard Hazel, 69, of Canton, Texas, are scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday August 30, 2014 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mark Moore officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
He passed away August 27, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Hazel was born June 27, 1945 in Fruitvale, TX, to J.R and Mary Helen Boddie Hazel.
He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Beef Master Association. Richard graduated from Edgewood High School in 1963. He married Glenda on Feb. 25, 1977. Richard was the owner and operator of T.H.E. Drapery & Blind Company for over 40 years and enjoyed his land and cattle.
Surviving are Wife, Glenda Hazel of Canton, TX, Daughter, Shelly & D.J. Maxie of Irving, TX, Son, Derek Hazel of Canton, TX, Son, Chance Hazel of Tyler, TX, 3 Grandchildren: Hunter, Madyson & Layla Hazel, Father, J.R. Hazel of Fruitvale, Sister, Linda & Clifford Anderson of Fruitvale, TX, and Brother, David & Bonnie Hazel of Fruitvale, TX.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Helen Hazel.
Honorary Pallbearers are Matt Hazel, Joe Hazel, Michael Stutts, Justin Phillips, Mike Stutts and Mark Stutts.
Family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service.
