

John Fredric Hardin, 77, of Edgewood, Texas passed away on May 26, 2026. He was born on January 31, 1949, in Santa Ana, California. John grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Northwest Classen High School. John proudly served his country in the Army Reserve for nearly a decade until 1973.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 am.
Throughout his life, John kept a sense of humor and passion for knowledge. He carried himself with a steady devotion to the people he loved and a kind-hearted spirit that was felt in everyday acts of guidance and care. He spent many years working in finance in Colorado and Florida, bringing diligence and reliability to his work. Later in life, he embraced his dream of ranching, raising cattle in Edgewood, Texas.
John was devoted to his beloved wife, Audrey, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years together. In 2015, they moved from Tampa, Florida, to Texas and began a new chapter on their ranch. Together, they welcomed family and friends with good food, warm hospitality, and long conversations around the fire pit.
John loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, golfing, and working on the ranch. He had a love for all animals, which was evident in his affection for dogs and devotion to his cattle. He was also talented with his hands, and devoted his free time to woodworking and making sculptures—crafts that reflected the attention to detail that characterized so much of his life.
John will be remembered for the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John is preceded by his mother, Ann Hardin; father, Robert Hardin; brother, Bobby Hardin.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Hardin; children: Tara Hardin, Bryan Hardin, Ryan Lobo and wife, Caroline, Pete Lobo; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings: Kay, Lynne, Chris, Heidi and Mark; a multitude of other family and friends.
