Johnny Wayne Parkerson

A funeral service for Johnny Wayne Parkerson, 83, of Grand Saline, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Mark Parkerson and Bro. Jeff Corey officiating.

Johnny went home to the Lord on June 14, 2022 in Grand Saline, Texas. He was born on January 2, 1939 in Edgewood, Texas to James Parkerson and Velma Legal Parkerson.

Johnny grew up in Edgewood, Texas and graduated from Edgewood High School. Johnny served in the Navy from June 1958 to June 1962. Johnny married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Blodgett on March 30, 1983; the couple had 29 years together at her passing in 2013. Johnny was a long time member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church.

Johnny enjoyed working outdoors, gardening and building houses. He was a Mason and Shriner for many years. Johnny was a hardworking man that in his free time enjoyed deep-sea fishing and golfing. Johnny loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. His memory will live on in the memories of all that knew and loved him.

Johnny is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Parkerson; parents, James and Velma Parkerson.

He is survived by his children: Danielle and Jake Wycough; Danny and Janice Downs; grandchildren, Eli Downs, Ethan Simmons, Garrett Wycough, Chisum Wycough, Kadance McClean, Shelby Wycough, Callie Gonzales and husband, David; great grandchild, Finley Simmons; brother, Jimmy and Glenda Parkerson; sisters, Brenda Thomas and LaVerne Haptonstall.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery.
