

Kenneth Wayne Yancey went home to his reward on April 11, 2026. Preceded by: his father and mother, Montie Charlie Yancey and Bertha Lee "Speck" Morris Yancey; his wife, Mattie Kathleen R. Yancey; and his son, Kerry Galen Yancey.
He is survived by: his daughters, K. Anice McKinlay and Jennie Kate Price; grandson, Joshua Wayne Price; great-grandson, Jagger Wayne Price; great-granddaughter, Maddeleine Jean Price; granddaughter Jennie Rachel Price Lyra; great-granddaughters, Jennie Rosemary Lyra and Veronika Penelope Lyra; plus a whole flock of step and double-step kids, grands and great grands on the McKinlay line.
Kenneth served the Lord in music (with his wife, Kathy, as pianist) for many years as music director, deacon, and Sunday School teacher; as well as occasional revival music director for churches in Ohio and Texas.
First Lt. Army Veteran of Korea in an engineering company. Built the famous M.A.S.H. unit of TV fame.
A member Post-Master and patron of multiple Masonic Lodges in Texas and Ohio. Received his 50 year pin from Canton Castillian Lodge #147.
In his life, Kenneth was a teacher of multiple phases. High School in El Paso, TX, as teacher and ROTC commandant. His small bone rifle company won the national title. Taught in Bertram, Eustace, principle of Bethel. Became teacher and test director for federal prison system in Seagoville, TX and Chillicothe, OH until retirement.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas, on April 16, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held at Eubank Funeral Home on April 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
He will be laid to rest at Meredith Campground, 5767 CR 3901, Athens, TX 75752, US, on April 16, 2026 following the chapel service.
