Mrs. Walker passed away August 27, 2018, in Mesquite, TX.
She was born November 20, 1951, in Wynnewood, OK to James Eugene Cottrell, Sr. and Virginia Pearl Newman Cottrell.
Linda was a devout Christian. She enjoyed serving her community and even served on the Balch Springs City Council. Linda loved collecting Elvis memorabilia, angels and bears. She loved spending time with her family and was known as “Cookie” by her granddaughters and “Ninnie” by her nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia Cottrell and her husband, Les Walker.
Linda is survived by her daughter and her husband, LaTresa “Christy” and Tim Fortner of Kaufman; two granddaughters: Odessa and Megan Fortner; sister, Jeannie and David Cain of Balch Springs; brother, Jim and Tina Cottrell of Wynnewood, OK; fiancé, Bill “Bear” Brent of Balch Springs; four nieces, two nephews, five great-nieces and four great-nephews; her best friend forever, LeNelle Costlow of Palmer; and many friends.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
