Maria Teresa Ledesma

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Athens, Texas at a future date.

Teresa married Pedro Ledesma on June 18, 1960. They had seven children, Daniel, David, Domingo, Richardo, Delia, Rachel and Raymond.

Teresa became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a teenager and attended one of the largest conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York State in 1958. She was a diligent and loving mother, aunt and grandmother. Teresa loved attending the meetings and participated regularly in the preaching work that the Witnesses are known for, sharing good news about a paradise on earth under God’s perfect Kingdom.

Teresa enjoyed sewing clothes and blankets with love for her family and others. She was a helping hand to those in need. She supported her husband with his tree farm and continued this work after his passing. About 20 years ago, she moved in with her oldest son and his wife, Daniel and Brenda, at the age of 62, living with them and helping raise two of her granddaughters, Calissa and Celeste.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Juana Munoz; husband, Pedro Ledesma; sons: Daniel Ledesma, David Ledesma, Ricardo Ledesma, Domingo Ledesma; daughter, Rachel Ledesma; sisters: Luz Muñoz Rivera, Florentina Portillo, Concepción y María, (last names unknown), and brothers: José Muñoz and Esteban Muñoz, some of whom were still in Mexico.

She is survived by her daughter, Delia Ledesma; son, Raymond Ledesma; daughter in- law: Brenda Ledesma; sister in-law: Rosie Munoz; brother-in-law: Jesús Ledesma; granddaughters: Brittani Ledesma, Calissa Ledesma, and Celeste Ledesma; grandson, Mason Ledesma; and numerous other family and friends.
