Marty passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 13, 2021. He was born on March 25, 1955 in Garland, Texas to Eldon Hutson and Annie Ruth Brandenburg Hutson.
He was raised in Garland until the family moved to Canton in 1966. Marty graduated from Canton High School. If you met Marty, you had a friend for life. He married his beloved, Karen Kay Wood, in 1983. They were married 12 years at the time of her passing. Marty loved going on annual fishing trips with the guys and riding the airboat. He liked riding four wheelers, dune buggies, and in the last couple years could be seen around the neighborhood on his side by side “Rosco”. After retiring from Kelly Springfield, he spent his days driving tractors and baling hay. He loved going on road trips with his buddy “Pettigrew'' and driving the 18 wheeler. He would tell anyone he talked to about how the air brakes sounded or how to shift through all the gears. Another of his favorite things was hosting parties. He enjoyed gathering people for a fish fry so he could sit and socialize and listen to good ole country music. Marty felt his greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved being a Poppy to his four grandkids and most recently his pride and joy Rayneigh, his great-granddaughter. Marty loved the Lord and enjoyed hearing stories of Jesus. He was a wonderful father, loving grandfather, and a great friend. He leaves an empty place in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
Marty is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marta and Jimmie Morgan; daughter, Carrie Easley; grandchildren, Brileigh and Caleb Mays, Colby Hutson, Erica Easley, Elliott Morgan; great-grandchild, Rayneigh Mays; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jim Williams; brother, Mike Hutson; one niece and two nephews; a host of other family and friends.
