Monte Kreg Sanders

Services for Monte Kreg Sanders, 55, of Mabank, will be held 10 am Friday, May 29, 2026, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Keith Camp, Peter Gargiulo and Kaci Gray officiating. Interment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Eustace.

Monte passed away May 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Monte was born on July 20, 1970, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio, Texas.

Monte lived life with joy, laughter, and a love for people. He proudly participated in Special Olympics for many years, competing in track, basketball, bowling, and soccer. He loved watching sports with his dad, fishing, driving his Kawasaki around the ranch, and spending time outdoors. Monte even owned his own miniature donkey business and enjoyed square dancing.

Monte was known for being a classy dresser who loved to shop, travel, go out to eat, and never missed a chance to enjoy a party or gathering. More than anything, he loved spending time with his “partner in crime,” his mother Sandra. Monte never met a stranger and brought happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Monte is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Fuentez; stepfather, Steve Fuentez; sisters, Susan Ryan and Glenda Garguilo; brother-in-law, Peter Garguilo; sister-in-law, Elicia Sanders; and his four beautiful nieces, Kaci Gray, Hailey Wilson, Lexie Ryan, and Kylie Garguilo.

Monte was preceded in death by his father, John William Sanders; his brother, Mark Kyle Sanders; and his grandparents, Arnold and Verlie Graham.

Monte will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
