She was born February 14, 1947 in Wills Point Texas. In her youth she was voted Homecoming Queen and FFA Sweetheart. As a professional she worked at Texas Instruments and held various positions at American National and 1st National Banks. She was an avid reader and an author of poetry, cookbooks and short stories. She also started and operated several small businesses including advertising, jewelry, and candy. She is most well known as the “Candy Lady” as for many years she made the local favorite Million Dollar Peanut Patty.
She is survived by her mother Temple Bolt of Canton TX, daughter Tammie (Bret) Dunn of Canton TX, son Chad (Suann) Martin of Bentonville AR, sister Charlotte (Bill) Swindell of Wylie TX and three grandsons: Jake Dunn of Canton, and Chase and Logan Martin of Bentonville.
Pallbearers are Jake Dunn, Chase Martin, Logan Martin, Steve Bolt, Eric Bolt and Gary Bolt.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
