Rex S. Haywood, resident of Canton, Texas, passed away December 16 from a long illness. He was born in Tyler, Texas, the son of Wanda Wilbanks and the late Edward Willbanks of Canton, Texas. Rex was survived by his daughter, Amber Carter, of Houston; his mother, Wanda Wilbanks, of Canton; his sister, Brenda Hughes, of Canton; his brother, Rodney Haywood, of Tyler; his ex wife, Monica Haywood, of Mckinney, and many nieces and nephews.
Rex was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He never met a stranger, and he was always good for a laugh. Poppy, Uncle Monkey, and Sexy Rexy were just a few of his nicknames. Rex will be truly missed, but he will be free of pain and suffering when he meets his Poppa on the other side.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, December 19th, from 11-1 at his mother, Wanda Wilbanks, home. Visitors can also be received Thursday evening.
