Richard "Chad" Emsoff

Chad was born in Athens, TX and attended Malakoff Day Care Center where he made his first friends. He also attended school in Malakoff, TX where he graduated from Malakoff High School after attending school for a short while in Brownsboro. Chad was an active child that loved sports; such as soccer, baseball, basketball and football. His academic and on-the-field prowess led to a crateful of awards.

Chad had many aspirations for what he wanted to be when he grew up. He had wanted to be a barber or chef among other things. He loved to cook and play dice/dominoes.

He was proud of his appearance and his family, always attempting to put his best foot forward. Chad loved his shoes, cologne, and nice clothes. He was a country-born city boy at heart. Enjoying the fast-paced life and music scene that came with living in Dallas.

As a reflection of Chad's compassionate heart, he was an organ donor. The family did an honor walk to memorialize his donation.

Chad is preceded in death by: his father, Richard Lee Emsoff; his maternal grandmother, Carol Saker (undetermined); his maternal grandfather, Ray Pemberton; his paternal grandfather, Alvin Emsoff; his maternal great-grandparents, Oscar and Waunda Saker; and his great-uncle, Joe Pope.

He is survived by: his mother, Marcia Calhoun and her husband, Dudley; his daughters, Xiacha and Ella Emsoff; his two step-brothers, Josh and Chris Calhoun; the mother of his children, Sasha Rios; his paternal grandmother, Lawana Emsoff; his uncles: Michael Hunsaker (and wife, Sheryl), Nicky Emsoff, and Clint Emsoff; his great-aunt, Donna Pope; and his cousins: Josh Emsoff, Jordan Emsoff, Justin Emsoff, Derek Hunsaker, Dylan Hunsaker, and Amanda Pope.

A service in honor of Chad's life will be held at Eubank Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 2pm in the chapel. A visitation will take place an hour prior at 1pm. Graveside service to follow, weather permitting.
