Like Derek said before, Butch impacted a bunch of little kids by taking time to coach soccer. I’m sure he didn’t know soccer before that, but he learned and took the time to teach us. And with his enthusiasm and encouragement, we improved and won. I have great memories of his caring about others and dedicating his time. My best to Rosie and Robert.

Butch was such a role model for me. He was such a generous person to give his time coaching a bunch of boys from Grand Prairie. He coached with such passion and encouragement which made him so different from any coach I ever had. The Dynamites he coached were winners on and off the field. I still talk about the impact he had on me to this day. As a boy without a father present he always seemed to be the father figure I needed in my life. I will always be grateful for that. This world needs more people like Butch Carnes. He will be missed. Robert, I hope you will take solace knowing what a wonderful man your Dad was to so many.
God Bless you and your family,

Robert and Family,

I am very sorry for your loss. It is such a blessing to have you in my life. We don't often find such good friends through work. Your Dad taught you to be a wonderful human being, kind, honest, trust-worthy and independent. You will continue to honor him.

Thank you for your friendship.

Our own words cannot express our sadness. We love you and are mourning along with you. God bless you now and always.

A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall.
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches straight and tall.

One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide,
The rose bent gently towards its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side.

Now you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted--the rose blooms there--
its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by God's own loving care.

I never met your dad but, if you are anything like him, I would say he was a good man. I understand your grief and know that if you trust in God he will help to ease the pain. I am always available to listen if you need to talk. My prayers are with the Carnes family as you go through this trying time.
God Bless you all.
