Shane went home to the Lord on May 28, 2021 in Athens, Texas. He was born on March 8, 1972 to Mark Edward Mize and Mary Renee Allen Mize.
Shane grew up Arlington and in Canton, where his heart was. He started basic training for the Navy before finishing high school and he graduated from the Navy base in Guam, where his father had been stationed in June of 1990. Shane served as a Chaplain Assistant while in the Navy during the Gulf War. He had been preaching since departing the Navy in 1994. He was an active minister for the Disciples for Christ for many years. Shane loved the Lord and teaching young adults and leading people to salvation. As an active alumni of TCU he thought everyone should wear purple and love the Horn Frogs and be like John Wayne. Shane loved his family and has left an empty place in the hearts of those who knew him. But he would tell you, don’t let your hearts be saddened, know that you will see him again in heaven.
