A celebration of life for Shirley Jean Russell, 81, of Van, will be held 1 pm Sunday, March 30, 2025, at East Center Baptist Church in Grand Saline, with Bro. Danny LaPrade officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, OK.
Shirley passed away March 26, 2025 at her home. She was born January 15, 1944 in Edgewood to J.R. and Lorene Kinney Payne.
Shirley was a member of East Center Baptist Church. She had attended Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler for many years. Shirley worked in the auto insurance industry for many years before retiring. On April 6, 1989, Shirley married Don Shirley in Kaufman, TX. She enjoyed watching Roy Rogers movies and had several hobbies.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Don Shirley; and her parents, J.R. and Lorene Payne. She is survived by several cousin, friends, and church family.
A meal for family and friends will be provided at the church at 12 pm following the morning worship service.
