A graveside service will be held at Haven of Memories Memorial Park on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 am with a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior.
Stephen grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from North Mesquite High School. He attended Panola College and later continued his studies at Navarro College. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twelve years and seven months. Through a mutual friend, Stephen met his wife, Lori Burrell. Over the course of 29 years together, they navigated life’s ups and downs, always working side by side to care for their family and build a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Stephen was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering loyalty. He worked as a Master Electrician and Instrumentation Specialist for more than 23 years at Smurfit Kappa in Forney, where he was respected for both his skill and dedication. In his quieter moments, Stephen found comfort in simple pleasures—fishing, watching baseball games, and tinkering around on his farm. He also took a deep interest in current events and politics, always staying informed and proudly standing by his strong beliefs as a devoted supporter of President Donald Trump.
Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his family, especially cheering on his grandchildren at their events. To them, he was their cherished “Pop-Tart,” an amazing grandpa whose love, presence, and steady support will never be forgotten.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Martha Brown, and his daughter, Stephanie Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Brown; children: Zachary Brown and wife, Whitney; Michael Perkins; Ashley Acampora and husband, Andrew; and Justin Pahanish and wife, Yessica; and eight wonderful grandchildren: Brenlee, Jackson, Emma, Willow, Josie, Grayson, Knox, and Bailey. He was also devoted to his faithful four-legged companion, Lexie Leigh. Stephen is further survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joel and April Brown, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him fondly.
