Velma was one of the most generous people you would ever meet. She started dating Chester while they were in high school, which blossomed into a relationship that lasted over 60 years. They were married in July 1963. Velma enjoyed keeping children while their parents worked, and shopping, especially for purses and shoes.
Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Brooks.
Velma is survived by her husband, Chester Williams of Canton; four children: Tammy and Kenneth Acker of Lindale, Janet and Chris Martin of Aledo, Cathy Williams of Royse City and Michael Williams of Royse City; six grandchildren: Brett Williams, Christopher Martin, Arron Martin, Chelesy Williams, Victoria Williams and Elizabeth Williams; and two great-grandchildren: Karli and Lena.
