

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Wanda grew up on a farm in Arkansas. She graduated from high school as Valedictorian. She enlisted with the Navy at 18 years old, where she met her best friend of the next 66 years, Ruby Hatch. The Navy put her through nursing school for four years, and she spent eight years caring for the men and women of the armed forces during the Vietnam Era. After the Navy, she married and had two wonderful boys, Daniel and Scott, as she continued her nursing work. Her giving and caring heart sustained her as a widow raising two boys.
Wanda married Tommy Bynum from Canton. Together, they built a beautiful life in Canton, Texas. Wanda retired after more than 25 years at Trinity Mother Frances, and the couple enjoyed a life full of traveling and camping all over. Wanda was a blessing to all who met her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Wenonah Dowdy; beloved husband, Tommy Bynum; and brothers, Nolan Dowdy and Charles Dowdy.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Daniel Webb and Scott Webb; stepchildren, Craig Bynum and wife, Stephanie and Ellen Bynum Lund; grandchildren: Josh Webb, Jason Webb, Scottlyn Webb and Tyler Webb; many step grandchildren; sisters, Rita Karnes, Barbara Burns, and Nelda Sewell; Best friend, Ruby Hatch; a host of other family and friends.
Wanda will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Van Zandt County, Texas, next to her husband, Tommy.
