Wanda was good. She use to sing with me in church. I will miss her

Wanda was the best mother-in-law a woman could ask for. She’d always take out the “best” cut of meat or make a special meal when we’d come visit. She was a great cook! She  also shared her favorite recipes with me and taught me how to “match prices” in the grocery store to help our young family save money. She was fun to hang out with when we lived in Texas and we’d drive into Tyler to have a shared favorite: Jack in the box -tacos and onion rings. I am privileged to have shared a long part of my life with Wanda and will miss her but know she is rejoicing in the heavens with her loved ones. Rest in peace sweet friend.

She’ll live on in my heart. 
My faith assures me that she is  more alive,  than ever, in heaven right now. 
I have vivid memories of when I was very little,  (between school yrs in the summertime, probably when I was 6 or 7yrs old ) calling her while she was at work to ask her how to cook Malto- meal, Cream of Wheat and oatmeal. I was old enough to read, but I didn’t know about “stir occasionally and stir constantly” !!😁
She was always so patient and loving, walking me through the directions while I cooked, telling me to be careful with the fire and be careful with the handle of the pan sticking out,  etc. and then reminding me to clean up and wash my dishes when I finished.

We’re saying “see you later” to my only sister, Earlene,  as we called her. She was my last living immediate family member. I was the youngest of 4, she next to oldest; we were nearly 14 years apart. Very few childhood memories as she left home for the Navy. BUT, I have MANY fun memories spending summers with her when I was 10 & 12 in California, & then again in Seattle the summer I was 14. I was her helper with the boys while their dad was off to sea on the USS Kittyhawk. She was big pregnant with Dan the 1st summer. He was a toddler the 2nd summer & my job was to help with him. Not that easy - my worst memory is him hiding the puppy in the oven! 3rd summer Scott was in the picture too - more fun & mischief! I always entertained them while she fixed supper.  I’m pretty sure we had fried potatoes & cornbread with onions every night! 
Due to our age difference as well as proximity, my sister & I did not really know one another well as adults. A visit now & then when her boys were teens & my own two children were elementary age, as well as when we retired. Kinda sad now…cause if we’d  lived closer, I’m pretty sure we would have been good friends.

You were the best Granny that anyone could ask for. You were always so kind and caring, and took such care raising my brother and I; your grandchildren, when we were growing up. Many fond memories were made coming to visit you every summer down here in Texas. It was such a pleasure getting to spend some of your final years being your morning coffee partner. You've made it across the rainbow bridge to heaven. You have gained your wings. May you fly high, and keep a watch over the family during these sorrowful times. I am glad that you are finally at rest.

Dear Wanda,
Just learned of your passing and it makes me sad to learn of the loss of a dear pew mate.  We quickly made friends after I invited you to sit with me one Sunday after noticing you sitting alone before Tommy eventually joined us.  Then he & I had fun seeing who could count the choir members present each Sunday.....our totals never matched!  Rest in peace, you've earned your rewards, give Tommy my love.  See you soon!
