Wanda was born May 9, 1943 to Ed and Lilly Abney in Paris, Texas. She was very social and never met a stranger. While growing up in Detroit, Texas, she made many life-long friends that remained in touch through the years. Wanda graduated valedictorian from Detroit High School in May 1961. After moving to Dallas, fate led her to her soulmate and the love of her life. She met Hank when he pumped her gas at a Mobil station. They married shortly after on October 24, 1966. Together they built a strong family that believe in their motto "One For All and All For One".
In addition to being a full-time mother, Wanda loved to ride and train horses as well as participate in playdays. As an aspiring artist, she loved to paint and sculpt in her spare time. As her children grew older, she was blessed with grandchildren. One of her most favorite things to do was spoil her grandbabies while they were growing up. Additionally, Wanda was a proud member of Wallace Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She adored her relationship with the fellow members and guests.
Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hank, Jr. and Jan Parker of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Suely Parker of Conroe; daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Jeff King of Petal, Mississippi.
