Yvonne passed away February 19, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona.
She was born March 15, 1943 in Canton, Texas to Opal Lea Shatley and Von Sharon Shatley. She grew up in the Old Bethel Community south of Canton.
Yvonne graduated from Canton High School in 1961 where she was Drum Majorette of The Eagle Band. Yvonne moved to Portland, Oregon several years after high school where she met her husband, Art. Art was in the Marine Corps so they moved to Vista, California, after they married. When he retired they moved to Oregon and started other business ventures. After they both retired they moved to the desert area near Kingman, Arizona.
Yvonne loved her simple desert life with her husband. they enjoyed their home and all the animals. She especially loved her dog, Mollie.
Yvonne was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Vista, California in 1972. She loved her Canton, Texas family and loved to visit. She especially loved the visits to Laughlin, Nevada to meet her sister, Judy, and any or all of her nieces and her good friend, Wyvonne Pitts. These were special times for her.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Lea Shatley; her father, Von Shatley; brother, Martin Shatley; niece, Carolyn Lea Lemley and great nephew, Kelly Dale Lemley.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Arthur M. Morland of Kingman, Arizona; son, Michael James Morland and Tonya of Houston, Texas; grandsons: Tyler and Katharine Morland and Travis Morland of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughter, Judson Morland of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Jessie Shaw and Judy Johnson of Canton, Texas; nephews: Bill Shaw and Carol, and J.T. Lemley, Jr. of Canton, Texas; nieces: Kristin and Scott Walker of Eustace, Texas, Leigh and Henry Jaquez of Trinidad, Texas, and Marcie and John Crow of Canton, Texas; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nephews.
She was loved by her husband, Art, and her family and will be dearly missed.
