

Anthony Michael Ambrose, 98 of Bokeelia, FL passed away on May 15, 2023. He was born on March 30, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Anthony Umbras and Beatrice (Gokmant) Umbras. Mr. Ambrose was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Anthony served in the Navy as a Seabee in World War II.
He loved to make rosaries and made over 15,000 of them. He enjoyed making them for the first communion class and anyone who wanted one. He loved playing cards. Ice cream was his passion. He loved to joke around and will always be remembered by his smile and his caring ways.
He is survived by his loving family Bernadette Sullivan, Sharon (Rick) Starr, Cynthia (Bob) McClure, Anthony J (Christina) Ambrose, Mary (John) McKinnon; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Kurpowic) Ambrose; his parents; his twin brother and 2 sisters and a grandson, Phillip Chad Starr.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rosary to being at 6pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 12175 Stringfellow Rd. Bokeelia, FL with burial and the rite of committal to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral, FL.
